The ceremonial cutting of the wedding cake has been around for centuries and symbolizes the first act as newlyweds and a promise to provide for one another. I remember cutting the cake with my husband at our wedding and it is always one of the moments that I look forward to at each Pittsburgh wedding that I attend. It's special. My desire is to create a unique cake for you to make that moment even more memorable.
Today, the wedding cake is often a centerpiece of the reception. Your wedding cake can showcase your style and personalities, but it can also be an extension of the decor in your event. Let's get inspired by your invitations, your dress, your flowers, whatever has a hold on your heart. Whether you come to me with specific ideas in mind or you hand over the creative reins, we will work together, one-on-one, to design your cake.
While I love the traditional wedding cake flavors of almond or vanilla (definitely not plain or boring!), I must be honest and say that my heart skips a beat when a bride and groom choose a typically non-traditional flavor like funfetti or lemon to serve at their wedding. There aren't any rules for your wedding cake, so you should serve what will make you and your guests happy! You can choose from a variety of flavors of cake and buttercream or we can further customize the cake flavors based on favorite desserts, flavors, or special food memories. I look forward to sitting down together for a consultation to discuss all of the details for your beautiful Pittsburgh wedding.
